U.S. Department of Transportation Issues
Ban on Texting While Driving
Effective immediately, truck and bus drivers nationwide are
prohibited from texting while driving. Truck and bus drivers who
text while driving are now subject to civil or criminal penalties of
up to $2,750.
Paving the Way encourages all motorists never to send or read a
text while driving. Motorists who text while driving are more than
20 times likely to crash than non-distracted drivers. Even talking
on a cell phone while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Traffic Cameras
One key to safe travel is to know what to expect. The Paving the
Way website is designed to help you know when and where road
construction might affect your drive.
Traffic cameras are also a great way to "know before you go." Use
the links below to check for congestion or delays before you get on
the road.
Columbus and the Ohio Department of Transportation have a long
history of using cameras as a tool to combat congestion. The city of
Columbus has been using cameras since 1975 to monitor and change
traffic-signal timing in the downtown area.
